5 Ways to Lose Weight Without Exercise

Losing weight can be a difficult task. One of the reasons why losing weight is frustrating for us is because we try too hard to do so. Losing weight should be easy. I have some tips that are simple, fun and can be used daily. You can lose weight without even trying. You want to know how? Keep reading my friend.

1. Get Sleep. At night, you might be resting but your body is not! Getting a good night’s sleep can help regulate your body's metabolism. Your metabolism is important because it helps you burn fat to lose weightIn order for this to happen, you must get enough rest. It's important that you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep nightly. So catch up on your beauty sleep.

2. Drink Water. Reducing sugary drinks and soft drinks from your diet is must if you want to trim down. Sugary drinks and soft drinks might taste good however, they lack nutritional value. Drinking water help the body process and eliminate excess waste from the body, including fat. Drinking water instead of sugary drinks can help reduce your caloric intake. Whenever you feel thirsty, grab a refreshing glass of water. Discuss with your physician the right amount of water you should drink daily. Water might not be as tasty as a soft drink but you will get used to it. Try adding a slice of cucumber, lime or lemon to your water. This will give your water added flavor, minus the sugary calories.

3. Swap Out Chips For Fruit. Eating potato chips as a light snack has become second nature to some. However, there‘s nothing “light” about potato chips. Most potato chips are cooked in fatty oils and loaded with processed carbohydrates which are bad for you. Good carbohydrates are needed to help your body function properly. Not to mention that potatoes chips or tortilla chips does not satisfy your hungry long term. A piece of fruit such as apple contains good carbohydrates that your body can used for energy. Fruits naturally contain vitamins and minerals, which are good for you.  Fruits are also filled with fiber, so eating them will keep your tummy full. USDA's recommends 2 cups of any fruit per day for adults. So plan a trip to your nearest produce department or farmer’s market!

4. Prepare Your Meals Ahead of Time. This is major step in losing weight. When you plan out your meals ahead of time, this will crush that tempting feeling that comes when you drive by a fast food restaurant. Preparing your meals at home is better for your wallet as well.  Don’t let ordering fast food become a daily habit for you. Fast foods are filled with fats and processed fillers that are not good for you. If you don’t know to how cook, then start off small with preparing snacks throughout the day. Your cooking skills will only get better as your dishes get more delicious!

5. Eat Only When You Are Hungry. When you consume food, it should take about 20 minutes for you to finish a meal.  Pause in-between bites in order to allow your food time to digest.  During this time you want your body to recognize that it’s getting full from the food that you are eating. This reduces overeating and your chance of packing on additional pounds. You don’t have to finish the plate if you’re getting full. Save leftovers for when you are actually hungry.

It's still early in the year so you have plenty of time to make healthy changes for your body. So why not start today?

Good Luck,

Serema
